Find out what’s on offer to support you within the Portsmouth Family Hubs and wider community and meet the faces from the teams at our 2 free events this Easter.
FREE workshops will be available to attend throughout the events so you can find out more about specific projects on offer during pregnancy and in the postnatal period, groups to attend, and support with your feeding journey whatever that looks like.
Who will you meet ….
Family Hub Champions – What to expect during pregnancy and postnatally – The champs will give a whistlestop overview of the Understanding Your Pregnancy Antenatal and Understanding Your Baby Postnatal courses so you know what to expect when attending these free 6-week courses available to parents and parents to be across the city.
ARC Outreach Project – Antenatal Results and Choices – An overview of our new ARC Project from Coordiantor Jen, who will tell you what to expect for your 20-week scan and what testing is available for all expecting parents. This project also supports parents through loss and subsequent pregnancies.
Families in Mind – Getting to know your baby – Learn about your baby cues and how they communicates with you. Find out about Newborn Behaviour Observation and the support available to help on your journey of getting to know and building a relationship with your baby. We will think about things such as when your baby is ready to relate, ready to take a break, ready sleep or ready to eat, as well as ideas around soothing and comforting your baby.
Taking care of you with Families in Mind – Being a new parent can wonderful, but it can also be stressful at times, and you might feel overwhelmed at times. You may feel that we have absolutely no time to make for just ourselves, its easy to forget what we used to do to “fill your cup”. Families in Mind will be sharing some tips on how to look after you as a new parent alongside some stress busting techniques that can help sooth the bodies physical response to stress and anxiety and distract and calm the mind. There will also be the opportunity to learn more about the range of emotional wellbeing support for parents in Portsmouth.
The Infant Feeding Team – Find out about what support is on offer from the Infant Feeding Team and schemes such as the FREE breastpump loan scheme available in the hubs
Dad Matters – Get an overview on services available for you as a dad and get tip and tricks for how to bond with your baby
Bump & Beyond – Perinatal Outreach Service – Join Sophie, our Perinatal Outreach Coordinator for a taster group of what to expect at her weekly drop-in group
The Breastfeeding Network – Meet the team offering support everyday in the hubs and local hospitals to support you through your breastfeeding journey, whatever that may look like
The Parenting Network – Bump & Baby – Come and find out about the services available from Baby Massage, Catch Up and a Cuppa, and weaning workshops plus more from the Parenting Network
Family Assist – meet the experts who will be able to guide you through this free online portal with all the information of what is on in and around the city for you and your baby. Some services are available to book through Family Assist and once signed up, you will receive tailored information based on your babies age.
Join us for FREE workshops throughout the day from the teams behind the projects so you can find out more information about pregnancy and the early stages of parenthood. Each workshop will last approximately 20 minutes. Please follow the link below to book your spot.
