This Saturday netball teams from across the south took part in the latest Netball in the Community festival. Alongside the tournament, teams were asked to donate books by organsier Debbie Laycock, to children supported by Home-Start Portsmouth.
The fun & friendly versatility event, where players swapped positions every game, attracted teams from across the South with an incredible 87 brand new preschool books were collected from players and supporters for Portsmouth charity Home Start.
Organiser Debbie Laycock was thrilled with the success of the event and added “The collection was an alternative to normal fundraising raffle and seemed to go down really well! Home Start were delighted with the donation and the books will go to local families who are currently in need, as gifts.”
These books will support children’s learning and development and support the work we do across the city. Books will be able to be gifted at events, stay & play groups, and on 1-1 visits. We are so grateful for donations like these as they really support the work we do and provide early learning for children across the city.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the tournament and donated a book.
