Portsmouth Parent Voice (PPV) are the official Parent Carer Forum for Portsmouth. They help the parent carers of children or young people with special needs and/or disabilities, aged from 0 to 25 years old, to voice their opinions on what they would like for their child or young person and to find the right support or service they need.

PPV holds regular peer-to-peer support sessions for families. This group was created to support families and run alongside the use of the ND Profile Tool.

Drop-in Sessions

CAMHS will be joining us monthly to discuss different topics and answer any questions you may have about your child or young person relating to their service offer.

ZOOM SLEEP COURSE

Sleep is as important as food and water

These sessions are specially written for parents of children with additional needs and disabilities and are interactive so that your specific questions and needs are answered.

 

PPV have a website you can visit and they are based at: The Hive Hub, Edinburgh Road.
PPV is not an emergency service and operates during term time only. They will endeavour to get back to you within five working days. E-mail is their preferred method of contact.

What is Portsmouth Parent Voice?
  • PPV is part of the voluntary sector and is supported by the Local Authority and the Department for Education. They are under the umbrella of Home Start Portsmouth, who are a registered charity.
  • PPV is for YOU, the parent carers of a child or young person with an additional or special need and/or disability; aged from 0 to 25 years old, to voice your opinions on what you would like for your child or young person.
  • PPV will assist you to find the right support or service you need by visiting them at a drop-in session or contacting them via email.
  • PPV aims to have the voice and active involvement of parent carers in the service planning and decision-making processes within the local authority and how services are shaped and delivered locally for families with a disabled child or young person, and to make them more focused on the needs of the families with disabled children and young people.
  • This is YOUR opportunity to express your views about what your child or young person needs. PPV can help to enable you to make your voice heard about what support your child or young person needs by contacting them either by telephone or email.

  • A central information store; with links to other services and resources
